The Helmet

This summer at an antique auction, there was a German helmet from one of the World Wars. I really like it so when it was put on the table, I bought it very cheap for $5. To get the helmet I also got 2 old broken kerosene lamps. When I got the helmet home I read up on how to restore them, and found out the preparation techniques. I followed the one and washed the helmet, and sanded the shell to smooth it out. Then I dried it and later put a coat of sealant over it. Then while I was working on it I found the serial number, when I researched them they just told the place of manufacturing and size. My helmet was a size 62, and made in the Eisen-Huttenwerke in Thale Germany It was also a WWI helmets model M-16. This helmet was even more of a collectible than I thought. I don't know if the full serial number was there or if that was it. Now I haven't done much with my helmet but I plan to paint it an early version of the Olive Drab. It never came with any of the interior or extra parts, the only bonus I had was the original lining rivets were still there. The Only damage my helmet has, is small amounts of rust damage along with a few dents, the worst scar is a hole that a piece of shrapnel tore in the top of the head. So as far as I know the last soldier who wore my helmet in battle, was killed wearing it on the battlefields of Europe. The man who's sale I bought it form says his uncle had brought it back from when he fought in the Canadian army in Europe. I am maybe planning on ordering a reproduction of the liner and chin strap for the helmet to complete it. So overall I hope to have a completely restored helmet.

PEN Acronym

The PEN a device so powerful it needs an acronym for a name. PEN stands for Personal Encryption Nominal remember this device is a very powerful tool. This item works so well it is more popular than the pencil. The only advantage pencil hold over PEN is that it can be erased more easily. The PEN has a feature which makes it completely independent from other sources to run.  The only power PEN needs is the steady movement of your hand to keep it running perfectly. The only flaw of pen is that after continuous use it will eventually run out of writing fluid. If this problem happens to you don’t worry you could reach into your pencil case and bring out a PEN. The other option if you don’t have another PEN on hand walk on over to your nearest store and they should have one for less than a dollar. PEN can be easily applied to a blank BOOK. If these objects are combined and used rightly you can easily create your own BOOK. PEN does not tire after hours of work the only one that might be tired is your hand. PEN doesn’t overheat after work but will be warm from your hand. The most amazing feature PEN has is that while you’re writing it is automatically saving your work as every letter is written. After it is saved on paper the person must make sure he can find the paper later. Now after reading this amazing story about PEN race on down to your nearest dollar store and buy a PEN for around 1 dollar! That is one amazing price.

The International 400

This week we started the final stages in restoring our old International 400. This tractor was the first one my Grandpa had ever bought. It was also the first purchase he made without his Dad watching. Now after it not running for over 15 years we decided to get it going again. Grandpa and Dad pulled it out of the weeds and moved it beside the shop. Then it sat and was worked on a bit for 2 weeks. Then we got it going. While I was at school Grandpa put the carburetor back together and got it back in place. When I got home he came and got me. My job was to run the key and choke to get it going while he primed it. On our second try it come to life. It coughed a bit then was running perfectly then we shut it off. Now that it was running we put in antifreeze and hydraulic oil. With everything running we tried to drive it, well it worked well and we drove it across the yard. Now it is once again sitting in front of the shop. The next job is to take the bucket off and then paint it a nice red.

This is the final look of what our tractor will look like.

We were shown a website with writing prompts and Here is mine.
One morning while I was lying in bed I heard a bang on my window so I got up to investigate. As I looked down there was a pigeon I stared at it because it didn't seem normal. Then I realized it was a metal bird I picked it up and it was warm because it had just flown here. This was a bird that was robotic but why did it come here I wondered. Then it started to speak I was to amazed to really listen. After it played it asked if i wanted to play it again, this time I listened. It said to me "You have been chosen by our leader to join him and his empire in their plans to dominate the world, If you agree a teleport will appear and if you dont I will be forced to kill you. Have you made your choice yet?". I just stood there thinking what is going on there where is this country should I risk my life and join them or destroy the bird and warn the world.Well I thought hard then asked the bird if he could answer a question. He said "Yes I can answer  but only one". The question i had though of was what country has requested me. His reply " The great country of Gerhanis", well I thought cant hurt to try cause this country is somewhere in the Middle East. Well I told the bird  would go so away we went. How did we get there well this bird grew in size to the size of a small airplane. We traveled all the way to Gerhanis in less than 2 hours. When we arrived I was fitted into a Uniform of their army I checked my shoulders and I was he rank of Field Marshall. I was shown toward the grand entrance of a large palace I could see troops off in the distance practicing their training with regular rifles. As I entered the palace a wave of cool air came rushing towards me as I walked down the grand halls. I could here keys on computers clicking and people talking as I walked farther into the building it kept getting quieter. As it got quieter it got more elegant I could realize the leader was female. Then we turned a corner into a grand hall and sitting at the desk was their leader. She was looked very formal and seemed quite in charge but I thought she wouldn't be supreme leader forever. She looked very young as I walked closer, the name on her desk read " Queen Mrs.Zunti" well I said hello then she said remember me. I thought years back to my school days and the EA in my class room was Mrs.Zunti. Then it hit me she was now a ruler of a country planning to take over the word. Well then I asked her how have you managed to look so young aren't you almost 50. Her reply " well I have lots of secret potions".Well then she took me into her meeting room an explained the situation. " Back when I was 25 I came of age to rule the empire of Gerhanis and I agreed there was lots to do but when I wasn't here I tried to live a Normal life in Canada. And know this great country is ready to embark on a great crusade to bring the world together and great the largest empire ever next to that of Nazi Germany. I as Queen decided I would need someone to lead my armies and so because we seem fairly powerful I decided I need a commander of my armies. I though back to my younger days and remembered you so know I see you have chosen to lead my armies".  Well I said to her " Before we even think about leading off this country into conflict we must start by eliminating any small countries around us and start to pursue a foreign policy of somewhat aggression. But before any of this may take place I must spend a month surveying our army to find out what it is capable of and if it would be possible to even undertake a massive operation. She agreed with me and I was left to myself to plan the next few days. I called up all my generals so they could tell me about the army. The conference went well and it lasted 5 days. I came away very impressed after watching our training videos the generals never hid anything from me and told me every downfall of the army which none of them were very important. I then looked at the number of men under my command which resulted in around 4 million men an impressive army by my standards. Which resulted in around 200 divisions. The army contained 10,000 tanks of superior standard along with 1,000,000 aircraft throughout the air force. The navy was its only downfall with only one major port to work out of we would need to expand our borders along the water, for the navy contained only 10 destroyers and 25 corvettes, with around 20 smaller non combat vessels. This navy I knew could be destroyed by any major enemy we undertook. So after my month of touring I went  back to compare with our queen. After a meeting we decided to agree on our set terms and prepare for eventual conflict the Navy would be added onto slowly and the army would start receiving stores of ammunition and weapons. We agreed that our small neighbor to the south along the ocean who would give us 2 more naval bases seemed a nice candidate to knock off the map. I went and proposed this to the Generals everyone agreed it would be a worthwhile invasion. It seemed that no major power would try and defend, with only a tenth of the army of us it would be a certain victory. The high command went to work planning and plotting the course of the invasion by our estimates the battle would last at the most a week. The plan would work like this - On the 2 of September our foreign ambassador would declare war. At the same time planes of air group 1 and 3 would take off to provide air cover, ten minutes later groups 2,4,6 and 8 would launch bombers into the sky and start to bomb enemy installations. This would go on throughout the day always changing targets. During this time the army would move up enough to be hidden but able to attack. Then the next on the 3rd the army along the coast would hold up for another day while the inland armies would advance in to the country along its other borders. Thus waiting along the coast while advancing inland the country would be locked against our armies and the ocean. That way no troops could escape into other countries and the largest amount of prisoners taken. This would continue and after 2 days the coast army would advance. The operation should go smoothly and any enemy resistance would be bombed into submission. This would be the first of many planned great invasions for the country of Gerhanis.
The End
Of Part I

What Time?

For writing prompts today this is the one I have chosen. "If you were born in another time, what would you choose and why?" So I have chosen that it would be cool to have been born in the 1920's. I choose this time because it was a great time in History and you would see some of the greatest feats and ideas come to life. I would mainly like to see this time because in 20 years it would be the second World War. I would be old enough to remember what happened throughout the six years of war. Plus if I wanted to I could join the army and fight in Europe. The most amazing thing would be seeing the rising power of Hitlers Germany and the invasions that went on early in the war. Even before the war I could witness the great depression and watch every country crawl back out to be a superpower or die. So that is the time I would like to be born in.

The IT Summit

Well this On Monday and Tuesday this week our teacher went to an IT summit in Saskatoon. She had two days of presentations and learned lots. So she came back today and has been telling us all about the things she's learned. The best thing of all she won a Black Berry Playbook. It is very cool and we have been all learning about it. The longer it sits in this class room the more stuff we find out it can do. So we just found out that it has games on it, and it also has a Skype thing for Black Berry's. Now we just found out it has radio on it, good thing its loud so we can all hear it YA. Well with all the new things we stop working and go and see the new stuff our teacher has to shows us.
Well hopefully we will learn something else.

The Canadian Government

The Canadian Federal election was held on May 2, 2011. The election was held because there was a vote of non confidence in the government. The party leaders started campaigning across the country trying to get people's vote. There was 308 seats to win in the House of Commons. If you receive 155 seats you have a majority government and can pass almost anything you like. When the election was held these were the results: Conservatives won 167 seats. They won the election and also gained a majority government. The NDP won 102 seats, this is the first time for a long time that the NDP is the official opposition of government. Liberals won 34 seats. They lost 43 seats in the election and is the first time they haven't been the opposition. The Bloc won 4 seats and lost most of their seats in the election, they lost a total of 43. Green won 1 seat, this is the first seat they have gained for a longtime. After the Election, the Bloc leader and the Liberal leader have said they will step down. For now, there shouldn't be another election for a awhile.

Auction Sales

Well I work in our family auction company. I am now a ringman and have helped at every sale this April. We had very few sales but everything sold very well. My job consists of hauling sale sheets to the office from the sound truck. Then after small items, I help the buyers haul their merchandise to their vehicle. We have more sales in June. Then we will have maybe two in July and one in August. I have only skipped one day of school and in June I might have to skip three i'm so lucky.

What To Blog About

Well I had a good idea of what to blog about. That changed when I realized I never brought an I pod cord and then we left the classroom. The class was kicked out because the people were here to put in new light bulbs. So new light bulbs mean better light, at least we will see better. So I had a great idea to blog about how calving is going so far but it will have to wait for another day. 4-H regional speaking is getting close, it is on Saturday. We will go to Moose Jaw, do our speeches and maybe if things are going good we will get to see some mens world cup curling. Well thats all I have to say for now. So GOOD BYE everybody and have a very nice day.

The Calving

Well this year calving will be quite different from last year. It all started last year when calving was cold and stormy. This put dad over the edge and in the fall we sold the entire cow calf operation, all 300 cows and we only kept 15 breeding cows. All we had left on the farm was these cows and, 150 calves to feed and grass in the summer. So now the cows are getting close to calving and the calving barn is all ready. This year all 10 cows that will calve fit in the barn nicely. So if it is storming we open the gate and every single cow walks inside. This of course is better than choosing what animals you think will calve and not having them calve at all. So like I said calving will be different.

Box Day

We are having box day in our class. This is when our teacher puts everything we have to finish in a chart on the Smart Board. After we finish an item we cross it off, at the end of the day everything that's not finished is homework for Friday. But this week we are lucky because there is no school, on Friday or Monday. We the students get a 4 day long weekend, but the teachers have to work on Friday and Monday, they are very lucky. Our class has been using a place on Twitter called #comments4kids, this is where teachers put on their class blogs, and other people go there' click on a link and go and comment on a blog. It is very good and our teacher put our blogs on it to. Our class twitter account is the Major Tweeters, we are looking for followers. Well Good Bye and have fun with your lives.
